What I am reading about?

Well, I'm not a good "just for fun" reader, so this year I committed myself to seek book for my blank spaces days. I did this not just to join the read movement (which I know it's bigger around the whole world haha). Instead i'm doing it for development my own imagination, because with the movies & series's boom these last years, especially with platforms like Netflix (which I think it's cool), I really think - and I'm talking about myself-, that Our creative or inventive sense has been molded. These productions set the guideline, what it's on top and what is not, and I think when we are watching movies that we prefer to see or popular series, etc., we are following a kind of pattern of stimulation for our minds. I do not know if I'm being clear but I'm a believer of the power of the influences like what has made us being diferents persons; and is because in instantainey moments or in a short-term, different thoughts and stimulis pass...

Hello everyone! My name's Carolina Ossandón and today I'm going to talk about "Polynesia", something very related to my career which is Antropología, because it is about culture. I have chosen this topic because when we talk about polinenses's cultures everything seems spectacular front our eyes, like if we were talking about a different world, something just in our imaginations but they actually exist. And also because I did love Vaiana's Movie (Moana in Spanish) and the clasic movie Lilo & Stich. I'd like to divide my presentation into 2 parts. Firstly i will refer about what does it mean "polynesia" and why i think its important for anthropology. Secondly i'm going to show our most near example about it in Chile: Isla de Pascua. We called Polynesia to the geopolitic way to refer of several islands distribuited over the Pacific Ocean. The name in Greek are "poli- nesos", wich means "many islands",...

This year on May first, I had an unexpected but wonderful trip of my life ever. Actually, it was my first trip out of Chile and at the same time my first trip out of South America. I crossed the world to the "old world", and landed in Italy. I flew with my mom, because for her this trip was like a business one, and I just was accompany her for helped her  (with my basic english) to communicate with italian people that she had to be in contact with. The history for the reason of this trip is for another episode, but today i'm going to tell you about one tiring walk but funny one. That time we didn't had lot of time to do things. So the 6rd May we did wake up early to go all over Rome. One fantastic thing about Rome is that you can visit very nice places like Colisseo, Vatican, Fontana di Trevi, Piaza de la República, etc., just walking or taking a bus or using the subway and It won't take more than 20 minutes. By the way, instead using a card like "bip...

My National (not so national) Holiday.

National Holiday in our country is celebrated on September. The reason of this holiday it is supposed to be the independence of chilean people, like who had born and lived here in during colonial age, and were governed by the spain monarchy even when this last one weren't present in the territory. The thing here is what does it means to be chilean nowadays, because that conflict has been left on the past and also we can question what people did participate of that conflict. The previous is because the people who has sign to get sovereignty were part of the elite intelectual conformed by two strong political groups, conservative and liberals, who even they have left behind their opposite ideas to get on. But, the native people who lived here since always, instead to asking them or make them participate to it, they weren't considerate to it, contrary they were repressed for a long time (and some cases they still being it today). So this nationalism thing for me isn't real. ...
